EA to skip on E3 booth this year

EA, the publishing company behind Star Wars Battlefront and the upcoming Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, is going to change things up when E3 hits the Los Angeles Convention Center this year from June 14-16. It has revealed that it will not have a booth at E3 this year. It will, however, have its own EA Play events from June 12-14 at Club Nokia near the convention center. In addition to that, it will also have an event in London on June 12th at The Mermaid. There will be a press conference on Sunday, June 12 at 1pm PT.

“Our players are the driving force behind everything we do,” EA said. “So this summer, we’re opening up our world to you with unique new live events in Los Angeles and London. We’ll bring the new games, we’ll bring the demos, we’ll bring the competition…and you get to go hands-on. Or join us online and immerse yourself to experience some of our biggest games of the year. Let’s live to play together.”

It’s open to the players, but you will need to buy tickets to enter. No news yet on how those tickets will be sold.

It’s a smart move to get ahead of the curve. Bethesda held a Sunday press conference last year that had many people talking about its upcoming games. Monday, June 13th, is a day reserved for many press conferences including Sony and Ubisoft.
