The predicted date of the big reveal of Samsung’s next flagship phone, the Galaxy S7, is fast approaching. We have seen loads of rumors crop up for the past few months about the design and specs of the phone. However this time the source is coming from the company itself.

PhoneArena.com reports that the alleged Samsung employee leaked that all versions of the Galaxy S7 will use a black chassis for a premium look. Samsung will focus the marketing on the phone’s ability to take great pictures at night with the rumored 12MP camera and an aperture of f/1.7. This is a lower pixel count than the S6’s 16MP camera, but Samsung reportedly is going the way of Apple and focusing on sensor size rather than pixels. It is also reported that the camera hump on the back will be gone, making the lens flush with the back of the phone.

Features that are rumored to be coming back, according to the Samsung employee, include water and dust protection like the S5 had as well as the addition of a microSD slot for expandable memory. Both of these features were removed, to many people’s surprise, for the Galaxy S6 model, so it is nice to see these coming back. The S7 will also, reportedly be available in black, white, silver and gold.

It has been predicted that the Galaxy S7 will be revealed during the Samsung Unpacked 2016 event on February 21st. Time will tell if these rumors are true.

What do you think about the rumored features of the S7? Will you be making the jump to the new phone?
