Sony and Marvel’s ‘Spider-Man’ gets an earlier release date

How’s this for teamwork? Sony has decided to move the release date of their joint Marvel Studios Spider-Man reboot to an earlier release date. The film, originally set to release on July 28, 2017, will now release on July 7, 2017. The move coincides with the recent announcement that Star Wars: Episode VIII now releasing on December 15, 2017. The prime 4th of July spot was left vacant when Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, originally opening on July 7, 2017, moved to Episode VIII‘s original release date on May 26, 2017.

If that’s confusing, then hopefully these bullet points will help you out:
• Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will be released on May 26, 2017 (original release date: July 7, 2017).
• Untitled Spider-Man reboot will be released on July 7, 2017 (original release date: July 28, 2017).
• Star Wars: Episode VIII will be released on December 15, 2017 (original release date: May 26, 2017).

The new Spider-Man reboot stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. Jon Watts is directing the film that’s written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein.

What do you think?

The untitled Spider-Man reboot swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.
