A look at The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD amiibo support

Recently it was leaked that the Wolf Link amiibo would unlock a new dungeon, an area that wouldn’t be available any other way. This caused a bit of a problem among fans who don’t like the idea of an amiibo actually having a purpose in a game like Zelda. (Lest we forget, Shovel Knight amiibo unlocks special modes, Gold Mario amiibo unlock a Golden playable Mario, the Mega Man amiibo will unlock exclusive challenges for the 3DS version of Mega Man Legacy Collection.)

By tapping the Wolf Link amiibo, players will be able to access The Twilight Cave (Trial of the Beast). If completed while having the Big Wallet, players will unlock the Bottomless Wallet, which lets Link carry up to 9,999 Rupees. It’s also being reported that after completing the quest, using the Wolf Link amiibo again will heal Link’s hearts up to how many he had when finishing the secret cave.

Using either the Link or Toon Link amiibo will fully replenish Link’s arrows.

Using the Zelda or Sheik amiibo will completely replenish Link’s hearts.

And using the Ganandorf amiibo, makes Link take twice the damage he normally would.

It seems you will only be able to use the amiibo figures once per 24-hour span. This means you can fully heal twice per day, replenish your arrows twice before having to wait, or just play the game normally.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will be available on the Nintendo Wii U on March 4th.
