Harrison Ford to return as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VIII?

Casting is currently underway for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII film by director Rian Johnson (Looper). They’re looking for extras, background performers, photo-doubles and stand-ins, according to Movie Casting Calls, a blog that helps performers in the entertainment industry. The site reports that Harrison Ford will be reprising his role as Han Solo.

Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Near the end of the film, Han Solo is killed by his son, Ben “Kylo Ren” Solo. If Ford does appear in Episode VIII, it’s most likely going to be a flashback scene. Maybe there’s a recorded message that he left behind the Millennium Falcon. Or maybe he did survive and comes back as a cyborg. (I hope that doesn’t happen.)

The film will be shot at Pinewood Studios in London and other secret locations. The secret name of the movie will be Space Bear, according to the site.

John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac will return as Finn, Rey and Poe Dameron, respectively. Gwendoline Christie will return as Captain Phasma. Hopefully she’ll have a better role in the sequel. Mark Hamill will return as Luke Skywalker. Newcomers include Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Jupiter Ascending) and Benicio del Toro (Guardians of the Galaxy), who’ll be playing a villain.

You can have a chance to be an extra in the movie by signing up with an extras agency and then signing up here.

Star Wars: Episode VIII hits theaters on May 26, 2017.
