Disney’s ‘The Finest Hours’: Casey Affleck and Chris Pine take charge in new clips

Based on a true story dubbed as “the most daring rescue in the history of the Coast Guard,” The Finest Hours focuses on the crew of two severely damaged oil tankers off the coast of New England during a massive storm in February of 1952.

Casey Affleck plays Raymond Sybert, the senior officer aboard the SS Pendelton. In the first clip, Raymond takes charge as he begins to give orders to the ship’s crew in order to keep their ship afloat for as long as possible.

Chris Pine plays Bernie Webber, the captain of the Coast Guard lifeboat that is sent out into the storm to save the crew of the SS Pendelton. In this clip, Webber and his crew are confronted with a massive wave. To make matters worse, the crew has to deal with a stalled engine at the worst possible time.

Directed by Craig Gillespie (Disney’s Million Dollar Arm), and stars Casey Affleck, Chris Pine, Ben Foster, Holliday Grainger, John Ortiz, Kyle Gallner, John Magaro, and Eric Bana.

The Finest Hours saves theaters on January 29.
