Remember when George Miller said he didn’t want to direct anymore Mad Max movies in a recent interview? Well, it turns out that it was a misquote. After Mad Max: Fury Road was nominated for Best Picture, Best Directing, and many more for the 2016 Academy Awards, Miller has told TheWrap that he still has plans for more Mad Max movies.

“That was a completely garbled interview. I was in New York and it was so noisy and the journalist was asking me questions on a red carpet at the National Board of Review,” he said. “She completely got the wrong fragments of information that were just not true. I said no, [another ‘Mad Max’ movie] will not be next, and she took that to mean I never wanted to make another ‘Mad Max.’ It won’t necessarily be next, but I have two more stories.”

The 2016 nomination marks Miller’s first time being nominated for Best Director. He did win an Oscar for producing Happy Feet and was nominated for Lorenzo’s Oil and Babe. He also got a nomination for Best Picture as a producer for Babe.

Mad Max: Fury Road has earned $375 million worldwide and has a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
