We may have found our new young Han Solo… or at least, twelve of them

Trio

With the overwhelming and ever-growing success of the latest installment to the saga from a galaxy far, far away, it’s no surprise to anyone that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has become the pinnacle of movie news all over the media. As the newly revitalized franchise has made one giant leap for fan-kind, many are clamoring and speculating how Star Wars and the folks at Disney will wow us with what they have next under their sleeves. Today marks the first step to what could be an even larger leap, in my opinion, for Disney and Lucasfilm, as we get wind of who the powers that be are looking at for the upcoming untitled Han Solo spinoff film!

Variety is reporting that sources close to the project have stated, after seeing thousands of actors, that the executives have been able to whittle down the list to about a dozen actors. Among the twelve, the most notable names we found were: Miles Teller (Fantastic Four), Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars), Dave Franco (Neighbors), Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction), Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad), Logan Lerman (Fury), Emory Cohen (Brooklyn), and Blake Jenner (Glee).

The film, not set to shoot until January of 2016, still has plenty of time to allow for fans everywhere to speculate and predict who they think may take the top spot of the captain of the Millennium Falcon. I’m not too sure if I’ve seen those Ford qualities that made the infamous galactic smuggler so unique in the actors listed, but who knows. We’ve been surprised by roles that many thought were not fit for the actor or actress playing them. It seems that even more now we’re seeing a rise in actors and actresses stretching their acting chops, showing that there was more to them than was expected. Whether Jared Leto playing a more psychotic Joker in Suicide Squad or Eddie Redmayne embodying the transgender artist Lili Elbe in The Danish Girl, the bar is continuously being raised as many performers are stepping forward, then stepping out.

What do you think of the list? Who do you think will break the ranks and take the top spot? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

The Han Solo untitled spinoff film is set to make its debut May 25, 2018.
