Game of Thrones season 6 release date revealed

It looks like Winter is coming during the Spring.

During its Television Critics Association’s winter press tour, HBO announced the release date for “Game of Thrones.” The sixth season of the highly popular fantasy series will debut on April 24 at 9 PM ET/PT.

Previous seasons of “Game of Thrones” adapted the material from George R. R. Martin’s popular book series. Although it may have left out certain plot lines, as I’m told plenty of times by avid book readers, the new season will mark the first time that the show will be ahead of the books. Martin has confirmed that the sixth season will definitely spoil things from his next book: The Winds of Winter, despite his best efforts to release the book before the season premiere.

Among the biggest questions going into the sixth season is the fate of some of your favorite characters. What will happen to Jon Snow as when we last seen him he was betrayed and stabbed by members of the Night’s Watch? What will happen with Daenerys Targaryen as when we last seen she was surrounded by an army of Dothraki warriors? And Bran Stark, what will become of him since we haven’t seen him since season 4?
