Valkyria Chronicles Remaster debuts new trailer

It’s already been seven years since Sega released Valkyria Chronicles on the PlayStation 3, a tactical RPG with a third-person shooter perspective. While the first game was very well received, Sega shifted its focus on the series, releasing the next two sequels on the PlayStation Portable (Valkyria Chronicles 2 and Valkyria Chronicles 3). Only Valkyria Chronicles 2 ever saw a Western release, and Sega announced that lackluster sales prevented them from localizing 3.

The fate of the series has been unknown. While all three games received high review scores, it’s been four years since Valkyria Chronicles 3. It wasn’t until late this year that a new title Valkyria: Azure Revolution was announced that it was in development, and that the original title was being ported over to the PlayStation 4.

While it’s currently unknown if Sega has any plans to bring Valkyria Chronicles Remaster to the West, we do know it will see a release in Japan on February 10th. (It will include a battle demo for the upcoming Valkyria: Azure Revolution). A remastered port of Valkyria Chronicles originally released for the PlayStation 3, and the PS4 version will include improved visuals, all of the games original DLC, trophy support and new content.

Here is hoping Sega plans on releasing the two titles in the West in the near future!
