Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller gives props to the developers in powerful speech at Game Awards

Greg Miller is one of the main reasons I got into the game journalism industry. His charismatic, intelligent, and passionate personality has greatly influenced me to not only be the writer I am today, but to be the person I hope to become in the near future. He is one of the rare individuals that turned his life-long passion into a career, and now he and 3 other friends are their own bosses at With the many accomplishments he has accomplished in the course of his games career, he has actually never developed a video game. So, the next best thing he did was give a big shout out to all the games developers at the 2015 Games Awards.

While playing Rise of the Tomb Raider last week, he noticed after he beat the game that the credits started rolling, and there were a list of developers he never met before but have always noticed their hard work. One of the developers of the game was Nicole Tan. He gave a big shout out to her for her hard work, and to everyone who has ever worked a game in their lives. He knows that creating a game is filled with doubt and uncertainty. Even when a game gets published, there will always be someone who is ‘mean’ to it.

Check out the full speech below as Miller accepts his Trending Gamer Award. Oh yeah, he beat out some of YouTube’s most popular gamers in the likes of PewdiePie and Markiplier:
