The search is on for a young Han Solo as Lucasfilm and Disney are gearing up for the “solo” film starring the fan-favorite scoundrel who is played by Harrison in the original trilogy and in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. According to The Hollywood Reporter, there are over 2,500 actors who are trying out for the role. These include meeting with casting director Jeanne McCarthy or submitting audition tapes.

The potential actors will lessen once directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller start to zero in on them. (McCarthy has worked with the co-directors before on the 21 Jump Street films). They have plenty of time to choose a young Solo since the film won’t begin production until January 2017.
