The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd Evolution announced

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky series has had quite a few issues releasing in the West, all of it due to the massive quantity of text needed to translate causing the games to be delayed a few times.

The first game in the Trails series released in Japan in 2004 and was ported to the PlayStation Portable in 2006. The game wouldn’t see a release in North America and Europe until 2011, and later a port over to Steam in 2014. The sequel Trails in the Sky Second Chapter released in Japan in 2006 for PC and on the PSP in 2007. However due to an even larger amount of text to translate over, the first game and some complications that arose from one person originally handling all the translations, Trails in the Sky Second Chapter didn’t see a release until only two weeks ago on Steam and PSN.

Hopefully things will be easier for Xseed Games the third time around, as Kadokawa Games revealed that The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd Evolution is currently in development. Trails in the Sky the 3rd Evolution will be the final game in the trilogy. No information was released on the game but more than likely it will see a Steam and Vita release in North America in the future as Nihon Falcom remastered both previous chapters in Japan for the Vita.
