AMC debuts trailer for Preacher series

During last night’s The Walking Dead, AMC finally released the trailer for Preacher, the series based on the comic of the same name. It features Dominic Cooper’s Jesse Custer relaxing until he gets interrupted by a kid asking for him to harm the kid’s dad. We then get a glimpse of different characters including Ruth Negga as Jesse’s ex-girlfriend Tulip and Joseph Gilgun as the Irish vampire Cassidy.

Also, it looks like there are some Easter eggs including a bottle of alcohol with a silhouette of a cowboy (could it be the Saint of Killers?).

Based on the twisted and popular ‘90s comic book franchise of the same name, “Preacher,” created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, is the story of Jesse Custer, a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip, and an Irish vampire named Cassidy embark on a journey to, literally, find God. The Sony Pictures Television and AMC Studios co-production was developed for television by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (“This Is the End,” “Superbad,” “Neighbors”) and showrunner Sam Catlin (“Breaking Bad”). The series is set to premiere mid-2016.
