HBO no longer attached to del Toro’s Monster

Back in May, HBO and Guillermo del Toro teased the idea of a live-action Monster series. According to a recent interview he had with Latino-Review, it seems that the show won’t be on HBO anymore. Instead however, he will be pitching the manga adaptation to other possible companies.

With Pacific Rim 2‘s fate unknown and his collaboration with Kojima, P.T. getting canned, Monster could end up the same way. That said, since his film Crimson Peak was recently released to moderately well reception, we hope can give him some negotiation power in the talks.

Monster is a mystery thriller manga series penned by Naoki Urusawa, and won the Shokagugan Manga Award in 2001.
