Final Fantasy XV’s Weapon Switching System is being updated

Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata recently posted some new information about some of the changes being made to the game’s battle system on the Final Fantasy XV official Japanese forums.

A real-time weapon switching system is being implemented into the game. This new system allows players to freely switch between four different weapons during combos by pressing one of the directional buttons on the d-pad in real time. Originally in Episode Duscae demo there was the Break→Rush→Slash system, which had weapons preset to each attack, leaving you using a weapon you may not want to be using at the time.

With the new system, you will be able to pull off different combos. To what extent we aren’t sure but I wouldn’t mind some stylish combos like in the Devil May Cry games or finding a way to dodge and extend a relentless barrage on enemies. Hopefully, we will get to see the updated system in action relatively soon.

Final Fantasy XV is set to release sometime in 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
