The Last of Us 2 confirmed by Naughty Dog developer?

It wouldn’t be a surprise to find out that Naughty Dog is working on the sequel to The Last of Us, a best-selling survival horror game with rave reviews. Nolan North, who voiced Nathan Drake in Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series, has said that Last of Us 2 in in the works during a MetroCon panel. Troy Baker, who voiced Joel in the first Last of Us game, has denied that the game is in production. Now we have more clues to the sequel actually being a reality.

There was a livestream yesterday promoting Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection featuring Naughty Dog’s Eric Monacelli, Josh Scherr, and Eric Baldwin. Scherr may have let slip that they are working on The Last of Us sequel.

Scherr said, “All the facial animation in the Uncharted series was led up by Eric, here . . . and [on] the first The Last of Us. Uh, did I say the first The Last of Us?”

The video has Scherr sounding like he wants to jump to the next topic as fast as possible. Or maybe he intended for that sly comment.

Perhaps we may get an announcement during the PlayStation Experience in San Francisco in December. Or maybe Naughty Dog will wait until Uncharted 4 is released next year in spring.
