Road House remake will star UFC Champion ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey

Ronda-Rousey-

“Rowdy” Ronda Rousey has shown that she may just be the toughest woman in the planet each time she steps into the Octagon. The UFC Champion has also been getting roles in major Hollywood movies including Furious 7 and Expendables 3. So what’s next for Ronda aside from starring in Mile 22 with Mark Wahlberg? It’s been confirmed that she will be taking over the main role made famous by Patrick Swayze in the upcoming Roadhouse remake.

While Ronda was more than happy to take over the lead role in the upcoming MGM movie, Variety reported that she first wanted to get the blessing of Patrick Swayze’s widow, Lisa Niemi, before moving forward with the project. And that she did.

Filming for the movie is planned to start in 2016, as MGM is currently meeting with screenwriters to work on the project.
