EW’s cover has bloody Lady Gaga for American Horror Story

I’m sorry, but if you ever thought this woman was slightly normal, then go ahead and take a good look at the new cover of Entertainment Weekly, and see how you feel. Go on, I’ll wait.

In the upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly, Lady Gaga “graces” the cover, brandishing the infamous claw-tipped glove we got to see in the teaser for the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Hotel we mentioned about here. In the issue, EW goes into great detail about how Gaga came to joining the cast as they spoke to show creator Ryan Murphy.

“I was at a construction site and my phone rang,” he recalls. “I didn’t recognize the number. [I answer and] I hear ‘Please hold for Gaga.’ I think ‘Bad Romance’ was playing [while I was on hold],” he adds with a laugh. “Then she got on the phone. At first I thought it was a prank, but we then had a lovely call.” And a brief one, too, says Gaga, who’s a huge AHS fan (Freak Show was her favorite season, for the record). “I called him and I said, ‘Ryan, I wanna be on Horror Story.’ And he goes, ‘Okay.’ And that was it.”

It’s no surprise to most people that Gaga reached out to Murphy in wanting to be on the show, as most of her career has been surrounded in oddity and the obscure. This show seems to be right in her wheelhouse,  giving Gaga a chance to really flaunt her ability to be outrageous on screen, but only time will tell if this will be her first, or last appearance on AHS.

Oh, and by the way, is it just me, or does she kind of look like the witch Anjelica Huston played in that child-scarring 1990 movie, The Witches?

What do you think? Will all of Gaga’s antics bring something great to the AHS table? Let us know what you think by leaving a comment below!
