UK trailer for Victor Frankenstein is truer to the film says screenwriter

Today the first trailer was released for the upcoming Victor Frankenstein. The film stars the dream-team of  X-Men’s James McAvoy and Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe, and is directed by Sherlock’s Paul McGuigan and written by Chronicle‘s Max Landis. Victor Frankenstein is a retelling of the original monster classic told through the eyes of his infamous assistant Igor.

2015 has been a busy year for Max Landis, as this week his film American Ultra will hit theaters, then Mr. Right in September, then followed by Victor Frankenstein in November. When the US trailer came out today, Max posted the video on his personal twitter, but later stated that the UK version was a much better trailer, and was truer to the movie.

By comparison, the US trailer is more action-comedy and light-heartedhe, while the UK version is has a much more dark and serious tone. Plus there’s a cool cover of The Doors‘ “Break on Through (To The Other Side).”

You can check out the trailer below. Victor Frankenstein hits theaters November 25th.
