While Kingdom Hearts 3 is still currently in development, it’s always exciting to see which Disney franchises you will get to visit and explore in the game. At D23 Expo, Square Enix’s Shinji Hashimoto appeared on stage and made the announcement that Sora’s adventures will lead him to the fictional city of San Fransokyo, the world of Big Hero 6.

The Big Hero 6 world in Kingdom Hearts 3 will take place after the events of the movie. In the concept art shown at D23 Expo, Baymax was flying over San Fransokyo with Sora on his back as the two faced off against a dark version of Baymax. Hashimoto mentioned that the development team came up with the idea of having the antagonists of Kingdom Hearts 3 use the powers of darkness on the old Baymax, who was left behind in the portal.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is in development for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While no release date was mentioned back in June, director Tetsuya Normua mentioned that the team has an internal release window they are trying to hit.
