Benicio del Toro thinks he’ll be in Star Wars: Episode VIII

It was reported before that Benicio del Toro was in talks to play a villain in Star Wars: Episode VIII from director Rian Johnson. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor has commented on the negotiations, and how he thinks he’ll get to be in the film.

“I can’t tell you much about it but I think that it might happen. It looks like it’s gonna happen, so I’m very excited,” he said. “I can’t talk too much about it. The script is hard to get. They told me they’d cut my finger if I talk about it… I saw the original one when it came out and it marked me,” Del Toro said, reminiscing about the time when he was ten and saw the original Star Wars. “I was impressed by the film and by the characters and by the story and the message.”

There is still a lot of mystery surrounding Star Wars: The Force Awakens, so it’s not surprising that Episode VIII is a bigger mystery.

Star Wars: Episode VIII hits theaters on May 26, 2017. Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18, 2015.
