The world of legends has just lost another great one, as we learn that ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper has passed away.

Piper was a man who needed no introduction, as one would instantly recognize the man with the Scottish kilt, the grand physique, and the attitude that brought down kings. Known throughout the wrestling industry, Piper had no problem speaking his mind, and acting on it as well. His ability to perform not only in the ring, but also outside, made Piper a hot commodity in the WWE. Piper was known for his pivotal role in bringing in the Rock and Wrestling Era, and his many feuds with the likes of Hulk Hogan, Jimmy Snuka, and several others.

Outside of wrestling, Piper found he had a knack on the silver screen. They Live, his most prominent film, gave the world their first glimpse at the acting prowess Piper could and would bring for years to come.

In 2005, the WWE inducted Piper into the WWE Hall of Fame, giving one of the most moving and memorable speeches in WWE history. Even afterwards, the man was still doing big things, as he had ran into Mr. T, whom he had a longtime feud with over the years, and made amends, stating, “I’m proud with what you’ve done for your son.”

‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper will be missed, not only by wrestling fans everywhere, but by the many others who have been touched by his works, his smile, and his heart. As he used to say back in the ring, “My name is Rowdy Roddy Piper and you ain’t seen nothing yet!” You will be missed.
