Five Nights at Freddy’s movie will use REAL animatronics

Earlier this week we reported on the recent announcement that Poltergeist and Monster House director Gil Kenan would helm the live-action adaptation of the beloved horror franchise. It didn’t take long for Kenan to begin revealing information about the film through his Twitter account. Following the announcement of his involvement, he revealed an image of what looks like the eyes of an animatronic.

He confirmed that the film would not use CGI for Scott Cawthon’s characters, and it would be 100% real animatronics on the set.

Animatronics is somewhat of a forgotten art in this age of Hollywood. There was a time where robotics were a key factor in the creation of some of the biggest films in Hollywood; movies like Aliens, Jurassic Park, E.T. and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles just to name a few. As a fan of the series, I am really happy that they decided to use practical effects over computer generated images. I personally can’t wait until we get to see a glimpse of a life-size Freddy Fazbear.

What do you guys think of the film using REAL animatronics? Let us know in the comments below.
