Rachel McAdams confirms those Doctor Strange rumors

Once upon a time back before Marvel Studios was the hit factory it is today, Rachel McAdams was Marvel’s first choice to play Pepper Potts in Iron Man. Fast forward a few years later and the actress is once again rumored for a role in a Marvel film. During her press run for the boxing drama Southpaw, the self-proclaimed non “comic book snob” confirmed that there have been talks with Marvel over the potential lead female role in Doctor Strange.

“It’s still super-early days, and I don’t know where that’s gonna go, if it’s gonna go anywhere at all,” she tells Los Angeles Times.

Currently, we’re not sure whether she’s just saying it’s “super early” because it is super early in the negotiations or if she’s already been cast but she can’t say anything. Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Chadwick Boseman have all said similar responses to the question, but considering McAdams has turned down a Marvel role before, we just can’t speculate. However, if she does join the cast, she would join Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Baron Mordo) and Tilda Swinton (The Ancient One).
