Voice actor Troy Baker quits Twitter due to harassment

Troy-2.0

Troy Baker, the voice actor behind many video game and animated characters, has quit Twitter as of yesterday.

It all started when he quoted a tweet from writer Brian W. Foster in which he poked fun at singer-songwriter Bret Michaels. The tweet has since been removed but reads:

“Brett Michaels looks like Mickey Rourke tried to become Caitlyn Jenner.” – @BrianWFoster

Considering the statement was referring to Caitlyn Jenner, many users were quick to accuse Baker of trans-phobia. Some even went as far as to tell him to kill himself. He then tweeted a response to these harsh critics which read, “It’s a shame when there are people who would much rather choose to be offended than laugh.” He soon followed it up with: “I quit Twitter.”

Over a day has passed and there hasn’t been any activity on his feed since; whether he will come back remains to be seen. Will you miss Baker’s humorous Twitter presence? I know I will. After all, he just wants to bring joy.

l love to play games and write stuff about them. I can't play something and not tell anyone how I feel about it. Call it a sickness, because it is.
