Marvel Studios had done it again, and Ant-Man has topped the box office this weekend. The ant-sized movie opened big with $58 million at the domestic box office. (It’s a slight disappointment though, since it was projected to open with $60-$65 million.) This marks the studios 12th film to open at number one. The movie grossed $114.4 million worldwide.

The film had many challenges, including making audience members interested in a movie about a guy who can shrink and control ants. (Not the coolest powers one can think of.)

Ant-Man is directed by Peyton Reed and stars  Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll and Michael Pena.

Minions, the spin-off movie to Despicable Me, came in second place. It made $50.2 million domestically, dropping 57% from its 115.7 million last week.
