Marisa Tomei in talks to join Marvel/Sony’s Spider-Man film as Aunt May

With news coming out that Marvel/Sony has finally chosen Tom Holland as Spider-Man, focus has now turned to filling out the rest of the cast. Before the Comic-Con news starts filling our news feeds, comes news that Marvel/Sony is in final negotiations with Oscar winner Marisa Tomei to play Aunt May.

The role of Aunt May has gotten younger with each iteration as Rosemary Harris first played the role in Raimi’s version and Sally Field recently playing the role in Marc Webb’s films. Marvel/Sony’s new films will feature a much younger Peter Parker, so it makes sense that the studios would also be aiming for a younger Aunt May as well.

Should Tomei sign on to play Aunt May, expect her to make her first appearance in Captain America: Civil War.
