Shovel Knight to be released in physical form

Indie Developer Yacht Club Games announced this morning that their hit game Shovel Knight will have a physical release; it originally came out digitally on Steam and the Nintendo eShop last June and was then released on PSN and the Xbox Live Marketplace in April.

Owners of the physical version will have access to the full game, the Challenge Mode, Plague Knight’s Campaign titled Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows, and future updates: Specter Knight’s Campaign, King Knight’s Campaign, the 4-player Battle Mode exclusive to the home console and PC versions, and Body Swap Mode which gives players the ability to gender-swap Shovel and Shield Knight.
Shovel Knight was one of the best games of 2014, appealing to critics and gamers alike. It sold over 700,000 digital copies along with receiving many awards including Game of the Year. Now that we’ll see it on store shelves, this could be a bigger financial win for Yacht Club Games.

Shovel Knight will be released physically for $19.99 on Wii U, 3DS, PS4, and Xbox One on October 13th in North America and October 16th in Europe where a physical PC version will also be released.

l love to play games and write stuff about them. I can't play something and not tell anyone how I feel about it. Call it a sickness, because it is.
