With Disney giving EA the reigns on the big Star Wars games, that allowed the video game publishing giant to have more power to produce all kinds of different games set in the Star Wars universe. Under its banner are different developers including DICE (Mirror’s Edge, Battlefield 4), Visceral Games (Dead Space) and BioWare (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic). Currently DICE is working on the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront game, but what about the other studios?

With BioWare’s track record, one can assume that it’ll be working on some kind of Star Wars RPG. I’m just hoping we get a return of the single-player action RPG world. (The Knights of the Old Republic was the first RPG game I actually finished and enjoyed.)

As for Visceral Games, it was revealed awhile ago that Amy Hennig, who worked as a writer and director for the Uncharted series, has joined the team to work on a new Star Wars game. With the team’s work on Dead Space, one would assume that the new game will be a 3rd-person action game.

Nolan North, the voice actor for Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series and Hennig’s friend, has given us a small piece of info on what fans can expect for Visceral’s upcoming Star Wars game during his MetroCon panel. He mentioned that it’s going to be a reboot and that it will have the “style of Uncharted.”

“[Hennig’s] gone to EA and is going to reboot a brand-new Star Wars franchise in the style of Uncharted,” Nolan said. “And I happen to know a lot about it and it’s gonna be awesome.”

A fan asked whether the game is the cancelled Star Wars 1313 game. He quickly shot that down but said, “It’s along the same lines.” Nolan said that for 1313, he did the first mocap test for them.

Are you looking forward to Visceral Games’ Star Wars game? Are you excited that it will have an Uncharted style?
