James Gunn confirms that the title of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is…

When Marvel announced the release date for Guardians of the Galaxy 2, people wondered when we would find out what the official title of the sequel could be called. After all, a title could define what the entire film would be about (see: Captain America). During the press tour for Ant-Man, Kevin Feige let it slip that the name of the next Guardians of the Galaxy would be Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Speaking with Collider, Feige said:

We start shooting Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 in February-March 2016.

It turns out Feige, a man who keeps Marvel’s secrets to the vest, let that one go since James Gunn has now confirmed the title. Gunn made the announcement on his Facebook page earlier today, saying that he could make the finally reveal the title following Kevin Feige’s reveal during Ant-Man‘s press tour.

What do you think of the new title?

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 saves theaters (again) on May 5, 2017.
