Seth Gordon is out as Uncharted movie director?

The Uncharted film has seen many hurdles, and now the latest one involves director Seth Gordon (The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters) dropping out. What’s the reason? According to Heroic Hollywood, Sony’s Tom Rothman had a bone to pick with the movie’s budget. The movie was supposed to be Sony’s answer to the Indiana Jones franchise; however, Rothman wanted it to be more like Resident Evil. WTF?!

Previously we had David Guggenheim (Safe House) giving Amy Pascal the movie’s script back in July of 2014, according to the Sony leaks. After that we had Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) joining to work on the new draft. The site’s source is now saying that the script is back in development hell.

This isn’t the first director to drop out of Uncharted. David O. Russel (Silver Lingings Playbook) left early on, which left many fans relieved, since it sounded like he was going to butcher the core elements of the Uncharted video game series.
