Forest Whitaker to join ‘Rogue One’ cast
The Star Wars universe just got a bit bigger… hopefully. According to Variety, Forest Whitaker is in negotiations to join the cast of Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars” anthology installment, “Rogue One”. The film, headed by Director Gareth Edwards, stars Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed, Diego Luna, and Ben Mendelsohn. There has been no official comment from Disney and Lucasfilm on this casting.
This year at April’s Star Wars Celebration convention in Anaheim, many great and awesome things were revealed, but the most anticipated bit of “Rogue One” information unveiled was the plot storyline, taking place between Episode III and Episode IV, stating that the movie will revolve around the heist of the Death Star plans by a group of rebel fighters, with Jones starring as one of the unknown rebel soldiers. Whitaker’s role is unknown at this time.
The film is set to debut December 16, 2016.
