Street Fighter V’s next two characters just leaked!

E3 is upon us and it is a great time to be a gamer. While many companies have decided to start releasing information early intentionally, there are still the infamous leaks that come out prior to many press conferences, and this year it is Capcom’s turn. So far Capcom’s Street Fighter V, the juggernaut of fighting games, has announced Ryu, Chun Li, M. Bison, and Charlie Nash. Well a preview in a German magazine, Computer Bild, has revealed the next two characters in the upcoming game Cammy and Birdie.

Now while I can only read a little bit of German and translate even less now since I haven’t used it for years, it is still unmistakeably obvious when you see an American originated name. Now while Cammy comes as no surprise due to her popularity with fans, I was a bit shocked to see Birdie’s name pop up, and I’m sure the great guys over at Capcom could add a golfing mini-game to make using the word birdie mean something else, realistically it means we are going to be seeing the long absent fighter Birdie who hasn’t been seen since Street Fighter Alpha 3. For those of you who may have forgotten or possibly never seen him at all, this is Birdie.

Capcom lately has been known for bringing back characters that fans haven’t seen in a while, and they did a spectacular job of it with Street Fighter 4. Although it did take them 3 or 4 DLC packs/re-releases of the game, they currently have one of the biggest rosters for a fighting game and managed to still find a way to keep all the characters balanced and fun to use. I for one am looking forward to E3 and to see what other big news and future surprises that we will have to look forward to in the coming months from Capcom and other developers.

Street Fighter V is currently scheduled for release on the Playstation 4 and PC in March 2016.
