Ryu and Roy bring the heat to Super Smash Bros.

The latest patch for Nintendo’s biggest brawler seems to have released earlier than expected over in Japan, and it’s no surprise that developers hide information preemptively for future patches in earlier ones. Thanks to crafty data miners, we are now privy to content that hasn’t been officially announced by Nintendo. Most likely they were saving these new surprises for E3 or for one of their famous Nintendo Directs, but the cats out the bag now.

Along with the two new characters, Roy from Fire Emblem and Ryu from Street Fighter, they also have in store new stages, Splatoon trophies, and even some music from Rhythm Heaven.

We do not have a release date for either character yet, and many think they may release alongside Lucas since their information was stored in the same patch. My guess is that Nintendo will be holding onto them until the next patch just to build up even more excitement. Nintendo has an all Super Smash Bros Nintendo Direct scheduled for this weekend, and then we also have E3 next week so it’s safe to assume we will see some confirmations at one or both of these events. I am even predicting that Nintendo may have a few more surprises up their sleeves for us Smash fans.

Check out the video below for a small taste of what we can expect to see in the near future.
