WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes passes away at 69

Virgil Runnels, aka “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, has passed away today at the age of 69. Rhodes was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007 by his sons, Dustin Runnels (Golddust) and Cody Runnels (Cody Rhodes aka Stardust). He was a three-time NWA Champion and held many other championship belts in other promotions.

Best know as the son of a plumber and a hard working man, “The American Dream” first debuted in 1968 and retired from the ring in 2007. Even after retiring he stayed a part of the wrestling scene, mentoring the next generation of wrestlers.

It’s sad to see another legend pass, but his legacy will live on.
