The Telegraph has reported that Sir Christopher Lee died Sunday due to respiratory and heart failure. He turned 93 in the hospital. Sir Christopher’s wife, Gitte Lee, chose to delay the news of his death to let close family members be informed first.

Sir Christopher has had many memorable roles in his movie career. They range from Count Dracula (Dracula) to Francisco Scaramanga (The Man with the Golden Gun) to Count Dooku (Star Wars) and many roles in between. And let’s not forget about the Metal album he did.

He was a man of many talents and was well beloved. I mostly knew about him as Saruman in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Count Dooku in the Star Wars prequel films. He will be missed.

RIP Sir Christopher Lee
