New X-Men: Apocalypse set pic confirms Evan Peters to reprise role as Quicksilver
I know I’m in the minority here, and I’ll probably get flak for saying it, but I’m just going to say it: I LOVED X-Men: Days of Future Past! Yup, I just said it. I thought it was Bryan Singer’s best way possible to redeem and revive all the catastrophe and destruction caused by X-Men: The Last Stand. It was great! Phew, there, I said it. I feel better now.
So with that said, one of the arguments amongst Marvel fans out there is who was the better Quicksilver: Evan Peters from D.O.F.P. or Aaron Johnson from Avengers: Age of Ultron? I’ve heard the argument go back and forth, and although Johnson gave a good performance with a somewhat believable Russian accent to his Pietro Maximoff character, Peters was the winner for me, as his erratic personality and incredibly acting left Johnson in the dust.
Singer, with X-Men: Apocalypse well underway of production, has confirmed that Evan Peters will return as the silver speedster, Peter Maximoff, and through his Instagram account, released an image of Peters “hanging” around in front of a green screen with the quotes saying, “Just another day at the office”
Having not had any information divulged in regards to this character, or his fate in the upcoming film, Singer, seeing how much love and attention Quicksilver received in his last X-Men film, will more than likely give the speedster more screen time, and duplicate that incredible scene from D.O.F.P. that captivated us all. Who knows if this is the last stop for our silver blur, or maybe this is only the beginning for what may come? All I know is, I loved Days of Future Past!!
