The Wizarding World of Harry Potter coming to Universal Studios Hollywood in 2016

Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Universal Studios Hollywood has announced today that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be arriving Spring 2016. This should be great news for Harry Potter fans in the West Coast who don’t have the means to travel to either Universal Orlando Resort or Universal Studios Japan. The main attraction there will be “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” in 3D-HD.

The themed land has been a working progress for five years and will capture the spirit of the books and the films. In the middle of it all is Hogwarts castle.

“Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” is the signature 3D ride that will take fans on a journey with Harry, Ron and Hermione. Thanks to the Floo powder, attendees will be able to travel all over Hogwarts, participate in a Quidditch match, escape from a dragon, and confront the Whomping Willow. The ride will combine a robotics ride system, filmed action sequences and special effects.

Universal Studios Hollywood will also have the family-friendly Flight of the Hippogriff ride, the park’s first outdoor coaster.

There will be themed food and beverage locations like Three Broomsticks, Hog’s Head pub, and Magic Neep and Butterbeer carts. If you want to shop, you can check out stores like Honeydukes, Ollivanders, Owl Post, Zonko’s Joke Shop, Wiseacre’s Wizarding Equipment, Dervish and Banges, Gladrags Wizardwear and Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods.
