Nintendo’s next wave of amiibo may see more store exclusives?

Just when you thought you could rest after the recent release of the Super Smash Bros Wave 4 and Splatoon sets, it looks like Nintendo is getting ready to release the next set of amiibo-pocalypse upon us with what seems to be more store exclusives.

Nintendo updated their amiibo displays and it shows Zero Suit Samus, Ganandorf, Olimar from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Green and Pink Yarn Yoshi from the upcoming Yoshi’s Woolly World, and three Animal Crossing cards to work with the Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer game in the upcoming release.

What is missing from the displays are Bowser Jr., Dr. Mario, Dark Pit, and Palutena, leading me to believe these will be store exclusives. The blue yarn yoshi is also missing, meaning it could be bundled in a set or also a store exclusive.

Can’t say I am fond of store exclusives, since it makes it that much harder to collect and deal with all the endless nights of waiting for sites to post their pre-orders up anytime during the day or night. Best of all store exclusives only happen in North America…sigh.

Guess we have to wait until E3 to find out when and where we will see the next wave of amiibo, even what might be getting added in the future in term of amiibo series.

What are your thoughts on store exclusive amiibo, and what amiibo do you think will be exclusive to what store if this is indeed true?
