FIFA 16: Now with 100% more women

The male dominated soccer series FIFA has neglected some of the most talented players for a long time, but no more as EA has announced that in the upcoming FIFA 16 you will be able to choose women’s national teams.

Only twelve teams can be chosen, which is a small piece of the actual body of women’s soccer. For one I would have loved to see Fifa add the NWSL and be able to see players like America’s Tobin Heath next to Canada’s Christine Sinclair. But for now, players will have to settle for them battling it out on the pitch representing their respective nations.

There are only two modes to play with the women, offline tournaments and online friendly matches, and you can only play exclusively vs other women teams. EA added special animations for the women to to go along with their authentic likenesses, right down to Sydney Leroux’s tattoos. I wish there were more game modes, maybe a career mode or manager mode, but I’m still excited for this feature.

FIFA 16 will be out in September following the women’s world cup. The buzz will still be high and I can’t wait to represent my country with the ladies.
