Scandal World Tour 2015: Hello World coverage

Almost four years after their previous Anaheim concert back in 2011, Scandal is back! Performing at the House of Blues to round off their North American world tour destinations, Scandal gives a warm welcome to all fans and attendees.

Hours before the doors opened, fans lined up eagerly awaiting the performance of the night. Repeat concert-goers from just 24 hours before at the House of Blues on Sunset in Los Angeles also couldn’t wait to see the band yet again!

Even their merchandise sold out quick!

Armed with their sea of glow sticks, you can tell the audience definitely loves these girls as they enthusiastically cheered their approval when the girls finally stepped out from behind the curtains to a full house!

Opening with the upbeat song “love in action” from their newest album Hello World, the band looked adorable and appropriate in their stylish and punky outfits. Scandal covered a good number of selections from their new album, much to everyone’s delight. They also covered older popular songs, such as “HARUKAZE” from Bleach and “Shunkan Sentimental” from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

Shunkan Sentimental:

The girls definitely had great stage presence as they rocked out to their own music, and it looks like they’ve been practicing their English as they each had their own message to say to the fans. I have to say they undeniably know how to interact with the audience! Seeing the band having fun on stage certainly adds to their appeal.

A unique aspect of Scandal as a band is that all the members get a chance to sing. While most bands have one lead vocal singer, these girls share the role, and showcased this during the concert as each had their own solo vocal performance at some point during the night.

One of the highlights of the night had Rina step out on stage with a guitar and perform her solo “Oyasumi” with her on vocals. You would think that’d be hard to do when she’s the drummer in the band, but they pulled it off. Admittedly, “Oyasumi” isn’t one of the heavier pop-rock songs the band is known for, but it was a great change of pace, and the girl clearly has talent. Definitely a great performance, as one could certainly tell from the audience chanting her name.

Of course, each girl also each had their own well-wishers screaming their names throughout the concert to show their love—so if you’re looking for a quiet venue and performance, this might not be for you. But if you’re fine with it and love the atmosphere, catch their next performance the next time Scandal’s here!

As fans Lupe Garza and Jeffrey Huang claim, seeing and hearing Scandal live is a “once in a lifetime experience.” Both have been long time fans of the band, and were in attendance both at this Anaheim performance, and the one the day before in Los Angeles. Huang claims that while the band sounds great either way, videos just don’t do them justice. Garza adds that he loves how they harmonize with each other and has a deep respect for these girls for putting together the band on their own (rather than being put together by a management company like many bands do). As Garza says, “They’ve worked hard to get to where they are. They’re by no means the best band, but they’re good.”
