Bumblebee to have his own Transformers solo movie

Marvel Studios has created a trend, and that trend is spreading to Warner Bros and its superhero films, and now Transformers and its solo films. The idea is to create many characters that belong in a bigger universe, and they can interact with other characters while also having their own solo films. Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner has announced Transformers Cinematic Universe plans during their presentation at Global Consumer Conference 2015.

“Last year was Transformers 4. It was quite a good success for us last year” Brian Goldner said (via TFW2005). “We’ve begun to work with writers and we are now developing the Transformers [Cinematic] Universe beyond the first four movies.”

One spin-off is reported to be a prequel that would take place on Cybertron, the Autobot and Decepticon’s home planet. Looks like we’ll be getting a Bumblee spin-off solo film.

“Many of you know Bumblebee; the yellow Camaro… formally known as a yellow VW Bug and he is a beloved character by kids all over the world,” Goldner explained. “We could see stories told around Bumblebee and other characters. We are in a process of building the brand equity around the Comic Book Business, our TV Business, our Digital Gaming Business and adding to that our new movie business of Transformers.”

Bumblebee is the underdog Autobot who many can relate to, and he was one of the central characters in the Transformers series by director Michael Bay.

Transformers 5 is scheduled to hit theaters in 2017.
