Play the dino, be the dino in Lego Jurassic World

Due to hit store shelves June 12th, Lego Jurassic World features dinosaurs, dinosaurs, and more dinosaurs as previewed in the new trailer. Of course, with a lead up like that who wouldn’t want to play?

With an allusion to the 1993 film Jurassic Park, the first dinosaur visible in the trailer is a Brachiosaurus. That isn’t to say that’s the only species we see: Compsognathus, a Triceratops, the King of dinosaurs – Tyrannosaurus rex – and my personal favorite, the Velociraptors, all make an appearance in the trailer. However, where would the preview be without the Indominus rex, from the upcoming Jurassic World film, so it is in there too.

In addition, while the game is titled to plug for the upcoming film, all four movies from the Jurassic Park franchise are represented in the game. In Lego Jurassic World one can play as any of the 20 different types of dinosaurs represented. That’s right, forget playing as a bipedal, puny human… you get to play as a dinosaur!

Developed by TT Games, Lego Jurassic World is the newest franchised Lego game joining other titles such as Lego Lord of the Rings, Lego Batman and Lego Marvel Super Heroes. The game will be available for the following platforms: Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Playstation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PC.

Jurassic World starring Chris Pratt is due out in theaters the same day as the game’s release: June 12, 2015.
