Killer Frost coming to The Flash
As season one of the hit CW show The Flash wraps up, Danielle Panabaker revealed that things will be getting frosty for her character, Dr. Caitlin Snow, hinting that she will eventually become Killer Frost.
Panabaker confirmed the transformation in a Reddit AMA saying, “From the beginning, I knew that Caitlin Snow becomes Killer Frost. And I can’t wait to suit up and duke it out with the boys!” Although she doesn’t specify when we can expect Killer Frost to make her first appearance, she did say it was coming soon and to make sure to “watch the season finale.”
All we can do is speculate, but after the events of the last episode, “Rogue Air”, with Wells turning the particle accelerator on, it is possible that we can see Panabaker make the transformation next week and setting the character up for season two. The actress reportedly confirmed that the production crew has created a Killer Frost costume for her which lends to the suspicion we will see her in the next season.
Based on the New 52 story line, after an accident at a S.T.A.R. Labs outpost in the Arctic, Dr. Caitlin Snow accidentally infuses her DNA with a cooling system from a thermodynamic engine and becomes Killer Frost, a heat vampire and supervillain. After a run in with Firestorm, Frost discovers that his extreme heat can temporary heal her condition. She continues to confront him and she becomes one of his main enemies. This would be an interesting turn of events for the show as Firestorm is Snow’s ex-fiance, Ronnie.
You can catch the season finale of The Flash on the CW on May 19th.
