Marvel made an announcement today that Captain America: Civil War is now in production. The biggest news for me is the huge list of actors confirmed to join Chris Evans in the third Captain America movie, and it’s looking more like Avengers: Civil War.

The most surprising one was seeing Paul Rudd on the list to join as Scott Lang/Ant-Man. Another surprising one is seeing William Hurt as Thunderbolt Ross.

As for the rest of the actors, they include Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Anthony Mackie as Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, and Frank Grillo as Crossbones.

Two actors with unconfirmed roles are Martin Freeman and Daniel Brühl. It’s rumored that they will play Everett Ross and Baron Zemo, respectively.

“Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
