Are these the directors Sony and Marvel are eyeing for Spider-Man movie?

We’ve had many reports on who is going to portray Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, in the Marvel cinematic universe and in the upcoming solo film. We also have rumors of who’s going to direct it. Now Deadline is reporting that they have a list of potential directors for the next Spider-Man flick. Of all that’s listed, there are no signs of Drew Goddard. They did say that the list isn’t inclusive.

Here’s the list of directors who’s considered:

  • Jonathan Levine (50/50, Warm Bodies)
  • Ted Melfi (St. Vincent)
  • Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect)
  • John Francis Daley & Jonathan M. Goldstein (Vacation)
  • Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite, Don Verdean)

The site says that the director may be finalized by the end of next week with Sony studio chief Tom Rothman having the final choice. What do you think of the list so far?

So far we have reports that Spider-Man will have Peter Parker still in high school, and that they’re looking for a really young actor. A recent rumor points to Asa Butterfield as the webhead. Also, instead of another origin story, we’re going right towards the action.
