Review: Luster Mini 3000mah external battery pack

The Luster Mini 3000mah external battery pack is a stylish portable charger that fulfills anyone’s need of on-the-go use. With the convenience, this battery pack comes with a lot of juice and charging power that will be good for multiple uses. It’s light and easy to carry, not only to mention it’s actually cool carrying one of these geek gadgets in your pocket, and it’s even more accessible to anyone especially for travelers. Not without some flaws, overall this charger will surprise many because of its outstanding performance.

There’s not enough I can say about how beautiful this compact battery pack is. The aluminum build doesn’t feel cheap. It almost feels like metal but it’s not. With that said, holding the Luster Mini 3000 in your hands feels extremely natural. If you leave it in your pocket, it doesn’t feel like extra weight dented in your jeans. When you take it out, it actually looks and feels stylish. It looks bigger than your average lipstick, and at the same time it could be easily passed for as a mini flashlight. When I first showed my friends this battery pack, they initially thought it was a lethal weapon, but it’s not. With that in mind, I knew at that point how nice this design was. On a more unique side, there is a flashy indicator light that lets you know when it’s on and when it’s charging. I thought this was a very nice addition to this humble design.

On a full charge, the Luster Mini 3000 will charge an iPhone up to two times on a dead battery. In general, it will quickly revitalized any smart phone within one hour. This performance is impressive considering normal outlet chargers can take up to 1 hour to 1 hour and 45 minutes to fully charge a smartphone. Needless to say, this isn’t a perfect charger. If you don’t charge the Luster Mini to its full capacity, then it will hardly charge your phone if even at all. When I was at work, I used the Luster Mini when it was only 20% charged. My phone only charged a few percentages while the Luster Mini quickly died off.  There is also a mini button you have to press in order to turn the gadget on; however, the button is extremely small where you have to press it a few times in order for it to work (and that’s not to mention if you have short nails).

Final Reaction

I was a little skeptical about portable chargers in the beginning. I thought it would be overbearing carrying a gadget that most people wouldn’t even think twice about. Even in this generation, carrying a portable charger isn’t the trendiest thing in the world, but if you’re a traveler, this is a perfect charger for you. It’s lightweight and stylish, it also feels good in your pocket. When you take it out, it looks like a superior gadget no one else has. But the real kicker here is the performance. No longer shall I be concerned with not charging my phone because this battery pack, packs a lot of punch in one tiny yet, accessible gadget. Even at home I use this charge instead of my regular outlet because I want the speed and the quick charge. This is a gateway device I will recognize and appreciate for years to come.
