When it was first announced that the new Ghosbusters movie was going to star an all-female cast, the Internet went crazy. Now we have reports coming from The Wrap that the 21 Jump Street series will be getting a female-driven cast for a spin-off movie.

Sony is bringing Broad City writers Lucia Aniello and Paul Downs on board to help write a script, and it will capture the comedic tone of the 21 Jump Street series. Dakota Johnson, who played a young officer in 21 Jump Street, may be one of the female leads in the spin-0ff. It may also be looking into talent from Comedy Central like Amy Schumer, Jessica Williams and Broad City‘s Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson.

As for Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, they will be crossing over with the Men in Black universe as they investigate aliens, the site reports. It’s still not certain whether we will be seeing Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones or Josh Brolin returning. What is certain, according to the Sony email leaks, is that Hill is excited about the project that he will be writing, producing and starring in.

What do you think about the female-driven 21 Jump Street spin-off and the news about 21 Jump Street crossing over with Men in Black?
