Josh Trank absent from Star Wars Celebration panel
Star Wars Celebration’s most-anticipated panel on Sunday was clearly the panel with directors Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank. “Conversations with Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank” was supposed to be a panel where the directors would give fans updates on their respective spinoff films. Gareth Edwards shared a lot of information about his film, Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One, but Trank was nowhere to be found.
The moderator of the panel, Pablo Hidalgo, told the audience that Trank was feeling “under the weather” so he wouldn’t be attending the panel. Trank also went on Twitter to express his heartache over missing the panel.
Hey all. So, so, so sad to have missed today. Worst flu of my life. I hear it went beautifully with Gareth. Here's to next year. #SWCA

However, Trank’s name was never removed from the panel’s jumbotron thus prompting people to believe that Trank’s absence was a last minute thing. As a result of Trank’s absence, information about his film was never revealed. What makes this situation so funny is that during the spinoff panel, the trailer for Trank’s OTHER film, Fantastic Four, was released during the panel.
